Application:
With the STH-2 barbed wire machine, it is possible to produce Glidden, Iowa
and Domingo type barbed wire, both two and four point, rationally, fully-
automatically and at high output rates. Stranded wire can also be produced on
the STH-2.

-producing 4" spacings
-diameter longitudinal wire: 2.43/2.65mm
-diameter barb wire:  1.96/2.10mm

Strand wire dia:  approx. 1.5-2.8mm

Sequence of operation:
After being wound off the reel, the wire strands pass through the clamping
unit.  The pointed wires are passed via two guide pulleys to the point


twisting attachment.  According to the type of barbed wire to be produced both
or only one of the wire strands passes through the station in which the points
are twisted on.  With Glidden type barbed wire for instance, one wire strand
by-passes the point twisting attachment via a guide pulley and only then is it
twisted with the second wire.
 
Two line wires and the wires for barb are fed from quadruple payoff stands.
 
Each machine supplied with the following:
 
-dancer / accumulator / wire break units
-magnetic and lock safety switches on both front machine covers and sliding
roller door covering, spool take-ups
